If you stayed through the end credits of André Øvredal’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, you were treated to a cover of Donovan’s “Season of the Witch” from Lana Del Rey, which was recorded specifically for the movie. Fittingly, the film begins with the original version of the song from Donovan, capped off with the world premiere of Lana Del Rey’s new cover.

The original song was released in September 1966, two years before the fictional events of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. It was found on Donovan’s album “Sunshine Superman.”
