Earlier this year, an extended version of Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight, broken up into “episodes,” made its way onto Netflix, and reports have been circulating around the net this week that Tarantino is planning to give Once Upon a Time in Hollywood a similar treatment in the future. And the rumor is, the extended cut of the film is 4 HOURS LONG.
We already know that Tim Roth had his scenes cut from the film, and Damon Herriman had also recently noted that his performance as Charles Manson was ultimately cut short. But how much truth is there to the rumors that a 4-hour cut is being planned for Netflix? Brought to our attention by Birth.Movies.Death. today, it seems those rumors may be quite true.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor Nicholas Hammond told The Mutuals podcast, “The promise is that like his other film, The Hateful Eight, they just done a 4-hour Netflix version. And I think they’re talking about doing the same. There are some actors like Tim Roth, wonderful actors, who never even made it into the film. I mean, their entire roles got cut.”
The current theatrical version of Tarantino’s ninth film runs 2 hours, 45 minutes long.
